Software Setup and initial training

Correctly setting up a new bookkeeping software is critical, maintaining a clean file will help you avoid recurring problems.
The importance of proper set up and training cannot be overstated and will pay for itself a hundred times over.

We charge a one-time $500 fee to setup your software, this includes one hour of training.

Training can be customized to fit your needs (ex: basic bookkeeping training vs how to pull and review the reports); the session can have as many participants as you like; can be done in person or via video call. The big pro to training via video is that it can be recorded for future reference.

If you are setting up a brand-new file with QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks often offers a promotion on their website of at least 50% off for the first 3 months, but when files are created with us, we can offer up to 50% off for 12 months.
After the 12 months the fees will go up to full price and you can switch to receive 15% savings.

Compare our price with QuickBooks prices

To determine the best QuickBooks Online plan you will need for your bookkeeping, consult the table on the QBO website link above. Keep in mind, that upgrading and downgrading your QBO is easy; some clients will start with the lowest level and then upgrade if needed. For most corporations, Essentials or Plus are the best options.

Bookkeeping software migration.

If you want to switch your bookkeeping software and keep your historical data, we can help you migrate from one software to another. Migration has its limitations depending on what you are moving, where it’s moved from, and where you are moving it to.

Tech Support and training

From QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks desktop, Xero, Adagio or Sage, we can help you.

Our Tech Support is provided via phone calls, video calls and emails. Our fee is $150/hour. If there are many questions, and you would like to learn how to correct the issues, you can typically get more value in booking a training session and get your answers in real time and with someone focused on your file.

For a Training session we charge $250, which typically includes approximately 1 hour with client and reasonable prep time and time to send follow up documents promised in session, when applicable.

Either option will result in us billing for value and requesting that you book in advance.

Review and Reconcile bookkeeping completed by yourself

We pride ourselves on being a teaching firm: we train our clients and we train our team. When we complete a bookkeeping file in house, the file is prepared by a junior team member and then reviewed by a senior bookkeeper. The senior bookkeeper provides feedback on the file (which we call review notes) and assists the junior as needed to make the adjustments and to learn more about bookkeeping.

Our Review and Reconcile service removes our junior from the process and instead you or your bookkeeper becomes the junior. After you have completed a period of bookkeeping, we can do a basic review of your bookkeeping for $250. This includes a review of your Trial Balance, to check if balances have been reconciled, and of your General Ledger, to review how transactions have been recorded. When applicable, we will send our review notes to you, including our questions, concerns, and direction on how to improve the entries or reconciliations. Please note that if nothing is found when reviewing, the fee still applies. Should this review require a larger degree of responsibility and level of competence, we may need to charge additionally. If you would like our assistance working through the review notes we send to you, our time spent working with you will be added to your Review and Reconcile invoice at our Tech Support rate of $125/hour.

We also offer an Advanced Review and Reconcile, which allows us to dig deeper into your file and correct items as needed. Fees for this service depend on time spent and is only recommended when your file needs a deep cleaning or if there are outstanding issues you would like us to take care of for you, such as if some accounts aren’t reconciled or if not all transactions have been recorded. We would evaluate the file, work through issues, and use our juniors as much as possible for data entry to keep fees down (our junior rate is $75/hour; our senior rate can be up to $150/hour). Please note that for this service, we would still expect that you have completed as much of the bookkeeping as you or your bookkeeper is able.
