Naturally a ‘sink or swim’ kind of person, Aline is so well organized you might mistake her for a machine until you find out what a big heart she has! After graduating from the University of Paris X (France) with her Master’s in Criminal Law and working as a jurist for fifteen years, she moved to Canada in 2017. When she isn’t gardening or cooking incredible desserts, Aline can be found planning her next travel or socializing with everybody.

When he’s not occupied with being involved at his church, he enjoys cycling, camping, and smoking a pipe. Maintaining close relationships with family and friends is always on his mind and you can normally find him out with his friends for meals. Andrew came to work for Talbot and Associates after graduating from Business Administration at Red River College in 2018.

What gets Aodhan up in the morning? Coffee. Find it, make it, drink it- it starts his day. Passionate about not only learning about the world around him but also teaching others, he lived and taught in rural Niigata Prefecture, Japan for fourteen years. He loved the Yahiko mountains and exploring Japanese shrines and historical places, citing there was always something new around every corner. In fact, his fondness for expanding his knowledge extends to his love of the British quiz shows, his favorites being The Chase and Tipping Point. Graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors, he has his eye on his CPA designation next. He is also a member of the Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club board.

On the homefront, Arianne loves spending time playing crazy 8’s with her two adorable kids or taking in comedy shows. Arianne cares about giving back to the community. She has a heart specifically for kids who are treated unjustly – a cause she aims to support any way she can.

We’re a smart bunch here at Talbot, but one thing we can’t seem to wrap our heads around is how we landed the most incredible IT Manager in existence. Avi joined Team Talbot in 2016. He originates from India where he gained his four years of IT and Networking Experience. He brings with his degrees in Technology, Electronics & Communications Engineering, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Enterprise Project Management and Network & Computer Technology (both obtained in Canada). When Avi isn’t intercepting a flying computer headed for the window, you can find him making a name for himself on the volleyball court or baseball field. Avi’s approach to life revolves around gratitude. He is thankful for each new day and the opportunity to help others.

When she’s not accepting an award for being Mom of the Year, she can be found serving clients beyond their wildest expectations out of our Stonewall office. Brittany graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree then continued study to obtain her CGA/CPA designation. She is a well-trusted accountant who enjoys providing sound professional advice pertaining to business and tax needs. Her passions include spending time with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors on daily walks, doing yoga, and knitting (which she knows is nerdy and doesn’t care that you think so). Brittany notes that if she had the chance to hang out with anyone in the world it would be Beyoncé for reasons she states, “should be obvious”.

What does Accounting excellence, vinyl records and boxing have in common? Chris Scott (known affectionately as “Scotty”). Chris graduated from the Laurentian University with an Honors Degree in Commerce and the CPA Western School of Business with his CPA designation. He is a hard-working and valuable member of the firm, bringing both knowledge and expertise to his role in Assurance, corporate tax and personal tax preparation. Scotty gives back to the youth community through coaching amateur boxing and developing non-traditional programming to assist in the overall growth of participants. Inspirational people for Scotty include, Richard Branson for his ways of developing non-traditional yet successful businesses, Nelson Mandela and Mohammed Ali for their ability to believe in what they thought right and never waver, the local small business owner for their courage and grit, and on the funnier side Mr. Wyle E. Coyote (although Chris feels Wyle E. needs to change his aspirations).

If her heart were a mountain, it would be the biggest one you could climb. Christy is known for her genuine love of animals, people and a good challenge. She graduated from Red River College in 2012 with a Business Administration Diploma majoring in Accounting. Christy is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Management program at Athabasca University and following, has plans to obtain her CPA designation. She is a proud dog mom (but we can’t forget about her two cats) and an avid optimist. Christy enjoys gardening, fishing, belly laughs with friends and is always up for a spur of the moment road trip. She has been a devoted volunteer with Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue and Relay for Life for CancerCare and dreams of vacationing in Australia where some of her family reside.

With her tiny home and chickens, Claire might profess to live a simple life, but she has some deep philosophies about making a difference in the world. She most admires people who go that extra mile to do something good in the world- and with her passion for baking, she’s living her own mantra. Her secret talent is being able to say the alphabet backward very quickly! After attending CUSB for nursing and taking a major in French and a minor in psychology, she came to join the Talbot and Associates Team. She has 16 years of professional baking experience at her disposal and isn’t afraid to use it! A few of Claire’s life dreams are to continue expanding their free-range flock of chickens and to one day have her own commercial kitchen to bake her heart out in.

Whether personally or professionally, Connor is always looking for new experiences or new things to learn. Every day he wakes up, he wants to learn something new and try something different; whether it’s learning more at work, a new skill, or trying out a new hobby. After graduating May 2021 from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Marketing with Summa Cum Laude honors and living in the US for 4 years while he studied, he already has his sights set on his next goal: his CPA designation. His professional dream is to use his CPA to help local businesses thrive. Anything that keeps him moving and active is how he loves to spend his free time. Whether it’s hockey (big Jets fan), golfing, hiking, or camping, he believes in a good work/life balance that allows him to create adventures and memories with friends and family. While he’s checked sky diving and completing the Mantario Trail off his bucket list, he will never get enough of spending quality time with his loved ones and credits his family with providing him with the opportunities to create his own path in life while teaching important lessons along the way.

A driving force behind much of the firm’s success, he’s been an integral part of Team Talbot for over 10 years. Dan received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba in 2010 and Canadian and U.S. Accounting designations thereafter. He brings a broad range of experience in tax, accounting and business development, having worked with many different industries in Canada and the U.S. over the years. Regular thrills for Daniel include helping business owners solve tough issues, save thousands of dollars in taxes or come up with a winning succession plan. Daniel strongly believes in healthy work/life balance. When he’s not busy establishing himself as a master of the tax universe, you can find him laughing in the face of defeat on softball, hockey, football, volleyball and soccer teams or enjoying life with his beautiful wife, friends and family in La Broquerie, MB. Everything in life Evan chooses to do, he does to the fullest! A firm believer in continuous self-growth, he thrives on exploring, traveling, and experiencing different cultures around the world. When he was sixteen, he moved to Spain to play soccer, living out his dream for two years and starting the foundation of what shaped him into who he is today. As an avid Jets fan, he’s not all work and no play either, as he believes a good work-life balance is key. Before graduating from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba in 2019 with his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), he took a keen interest in investing at his job at RBC. For years, he was involved in ALS fundraisers, donations, and event organizations, a charity near and dear to his heart. His enthusiasm for numbers and helping people took off from there and after joining the T&A team, he earned his CPA designation in 2023. Evan’s personal travel goal is to visit each continent and, with twenty-three countries already crossed off his list, he’s well on his way! Some of the memories he holds most dear are the trip where he climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and proposing to his fiancée in Paris.

Gerald is a man of few words, but when he uses them, they’re either filled with humour or determination. After graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor in Administration degree in 2015, T&A was the lucky company to scoop Gerald up before the others. Gerald has plans to obtain his CPA designation – we expect not long after that he’ll be running the firm. Outside the office you can find Gerald with a permanent smile while in family mode – especially wrestling with his son (usually over the TV remote) or helping his little girl paint her nails (he admits he would let his daughter paint his finger nails once she gets more skilled). Gerald enjoys writing, working with numbers and has tremendous respect for people who go to the extremes to stand up for the greater good in life.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the lady who keeps everything spinning at T&A’s head office. People are instantly drawn to Ginette because of her warm, welcoming personality, then find themselves making excuses to hang out with her because of her infectious laugh or because she always believes the best about you. It’s not surprising that this rock star was once in the Navy reserves – because there’s not a task or situation that could possibly throw this firecracker off her game. Off hours, be it packing a picnic and taking off to the beach or hiking some far-off trail in Manitoba – excursions and family are what make her world spin. When asked about a dream Ginette has for her life she responded with a whimsical grin, “to see my kids succeed at whatever it is they want…yeah…that”.

With an outlook on life as sweet as her baking, she is always there to lend a helping hand or just to listen when someone needs to vent. After graduating from the Assiniboine Community College with an Agribusiness Diploma in 2013, she went on to obtain her Certificate in Municipal Administration from the University of Manitoba in 2017. She works closely with the St. Lazare Daycare Committee and multiple other organizations in pursuit of their joint project to get a licensed daycare in “Ecole Saint-Lazare”. When she’s not boosting her team to their goals or rallying support for her community, Haley can be found basking in the moment with the people she admires most in life: her family! A big believer in remaining in the present, she enjoys playing hockey and skating as well as bike rides and trail walks with her husband and son.

She’s the savvy Director of First Impressions at Talbot’s head office and we’re not quite sure what we’d do without her. Quick with a “pump-you-up” fun contests or jokes, in her spare time, this lightening rod is also a marriage commissionaire, studies sign language and always stays up-to-speed on what’s happening in the world. Her passions include music (from Beethoven to Classic Rock) and being with her daughters and husband.

He enjoys traveling and extreme sports such as sky diving, scuba diving, water rafting, mountain climbing, bungee jumping and paragliding (next on the list, F1 driving experience in Dubai). Jean-Guy believes that happiness is a choice you make every morning. He inspires those around him by living these types of insights, and clients and colleagues across North America consider him a friend and a mentor. Born and raised on a mixed farm, Jean-Guy learned at a very young age to feed the chickens, milk cows, clean the pigpen by hand and to NEVER stand behind a coughing cow. Starting his accounting career in 1983, he worked in public practice for several years before founding Talbot and Associates on a part time basis in 1987. Growing the practice from a one-person operation in his basement to over 70 staff in 8 locations across Manitoba, he has devoted a tremendous amount of time and energy to research the secrets of operating a better practice. He is now mentoring other accountants & bookkeepers on the path of success. In 2016 Jean-Guy was formally recognized by his peers for having rendered exceptional services to the profession career achievements and received the title of fellow CPA (FCPA).

The Spreadsheet Queen, Jen loves to create budgets for everything. No wonder she is the treasurer of Teulon Daycare Inc. and a board member of the Balmoral Childcare Centre! Her passion doesn’t stop there, Jen’s dream is to one day own a camp for kids. Talbot & Associates is lucky to have someone like her on our team. Originally from a film studies background, Jen worked on television and movie sets in Winnipeg for a year and a half before deciding it wasn’t for her. She then began the CGA program in June of 2010 and started working with EPR Stonewall in 2011. Following the acquisition, she’s happy to be a part of a company that truly values its clients and community. When not working, you can find Jen laughing and having conversations with her husband and kids or riding her mini-bike around the trails behind their house.

Jocelyne received a diploma in Business Administration from the Université de Saint-Boniface in 1997. Prior to Talbot, she obtained close to 10 years of public and private accounting experience. Out of the office, you can find her rink-side cheering on her daughters in ringette, enjoying golf, speeding on trails a la ATV or laughing up a storm near a bonfire with friends.

In the future, Joelle aims to be more involved with organizations that dedicate efforts to help children with life-threatening illnesses. She is mainly influenced by her Mom, who carries out life with strength, a devoted heart and by keeping family connections alive. There is such a thing as being able to achieve over 100% on a mathematics score and we can prove it – because that’s just one of the boundless traits Joshua Block (Josh) brings to the T&A table. After obtaining his BA in Criminology, Josh now aims to achieve his CPA designation. At work, he applies his time to making T&A a better place with his positive, can-do attitude, willingness to assist team members and all around humorous nature. After hours, interests include hockey (he’s the biggest Sidney Crosby fan ever), eccentric television series (like Veronica Mars, which he assisted in the launch of a digital funding platform for continued production) and Pokémon Go (of which Josh claims the fever has not died). Josh most enjoys spending time with friends/family and the collaborate work he does with co-workers and clients.

For board game enthusiast Joshua, life is full of puzzles that need solving. Accounting is no exception where nothing feels better to him than taking a messy numbers situation and bringing order and structure to it. Born near Vancouver, Josh grew up in rural Saskatchewan before moving back to Vancouver. Then he moved to Manitoba. It seems he still can’t make up his mind if he likes our cold, prairie winters! Having completed his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Briercrest College in Saskatchewan, he has now set his sights on his next goal: completing his CPA designation. In his free time, he enjoys outdoorsy activities and has promised his wife to settle her on a small acreage with a horse someday. He most admires his grandparents for the way they so deeply invested their time into the lives of those around them.

One of those moments was when one Julien Grenier landed on the firm’s doorstep in 2008. He essentially was (and is) the poster child for the firm’s creed. Passionate about getting the most out of life and helping others do the same, Julien is determined to see T&A become a nationwide firm. Whether its playing softball or volleyball, or sailing Gore Bay in Ontario with his wife and dogs, Julien is the outdoorsman’s outdoorsman – always seeking the next opportunity to head out to the cabin to breathe in fresh air, perspective and possibility.

Two things that you can bet money on when it comes to Justin Chaput is: (1) out of any person in any room, he’ll be wearing the most interesting socks and (2) the genius perspective he brings to his work. Justin started with T&A as a junior accountant in 2001 and became a partner in 2013. He’s known for creating game-changing opportunities for clients, making the Ag Team the best it can be and mentoring team mates (except the ones who give him a hard time for being an enthusiastic Toronto Maple Leafs fan – Justin doesn’t even make eye contact with those people). Justin is thankful every day to work in a job he loves – an important belief instilled in him by his parents. His dream is to be a great father to his son, Félix, and a supportive husband to his partner, Mel; cheering them both on through life – adopting their goals as his own.

Some people say Katie Gunther looks like Molly Ringwald (in her 80’s prime), we say she was one of the best things that’s ever happened to T&A. Her love of life, determination and eagerness to learn has benefitted the firm and clients extremely well. Katie joined the Ashern office in August 2015, bringing with her over eight years experience in professional bookkeeping. Currently, she is working towards her Accounting Certificate through Athabasca University. Happiest in the outdoors, you can find her hiking, camping, helping on her parents’ cattle farm, running with her husband Curtis or building snow forts with her three sons Logan, Warrick and Gerard. Katie is a co-ordinator for the Steep Rock Swim Program as well as volunteers at many community events and teaches Sunday School at Peace Lutheran Church.

Katrina believes continuing to learn, challenge her current mindset, and seek out wisdom from those around her is all part of our lifelong growth. Having completed her QuickBooks Online and Desktop Certification, you can find her hard at work in her current field of focus. At the age of 3, she took her first ballet class and discovered her passion, going on to study full time at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division at the age of 12. Part of a small group of 10 girls from around the world, she trained in classical Russian Technique and learned discipline, strong work ethic, and a deep love and respect for the art form. Today, you can find her hiking, puzzling, brushing up on her calligraphy skills, or in the kitchen with a glass of red wine trying a new recipe with her beloved cat Pippa.

Beyond number crunching and helping teammates stay on track, Kevin enjoys snowboarding, hockey and taking in of-the-beaten-path films. Kyla is an integral member of T&A’s Ag Team and provides exceptional training, support and care for her teammates and clients of the firm. She is currently enrolled in the CPA program after obtaining an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University. She grew up in rural southeastern Manitoba and enjoys golfing, fishing, water skiing, playing softball and hiking. When she’s not enjoying the great outdoors, you’ll find her defeating challenges like most recently running trail races in the Rockies and winning 2nd at the Festival Du Voyageur Games.

Lindsay greatly admires her daughter Samantha who has set goals and persevered, and hopes for the day when she can travel the world and immerse herself in its wonders (in more peaceful times). Martine most admires her siblings who shape her world with their fresh perspectives. In her spare time, she appreciates road trips, watching movies, reading ghostly novels, rollerblading and the occasional snowboarding trip. Martine’s dream experience would be to visit Scotland to take in historical castles while listening to George Michael’s greatest hits on repeat.

If James Dean, G.I. Joe and Tony Robbins were in a band, they’d be called Patrick Pantel. He says he’s from a different time – we say he needs his own show. Patrick began his career in the mechanical field for nine years, before changing gears (pun intended) and switching paths. After completing his CGA studies, he found his calling in the number crunching world. Guaranteed to come at it differently than anyone else in the room, Patrick’s unique perspective, matched with his great ability to problem solve makes him a solid asset to the firm where he contributes to the year-end and personal tax filing preparation teams. When he’s not getting down to business, you’ll find Patrick peeling away on his Suzuki 250 off to the barracks, being part of the Canadian Armed Forces. Patrick enjoys hanging out with co-workers, helping clients, snowboarding and hot rods. We expect someday to read about Patrick conquering some amazing feat as we collectively scream that we once knew him.

She hasn’t told us exactly how she’s related to Mother Teresa – but it’s obvious as she’s so motivated by helping others and could accomplish anything she sets her mind to. After gaining her certificate in Applied Accounting, she joined the T&A team in 2016 and quickly went on to lead the star Bookkeeping Team. She completed her Payroll Compliance Practitioner’s Designation in 2020. Over the last 5 years, she’s made the lives of over 300 clients easier by handling their payroll and payroll related tasks. Outside of T&A time, Sasha considers it a privilege to serve at church. She enjoys romantic films, baking, sports, biking, camping and is a proud mom to her pup, Tika.

Family is a large part of her life and the reason she wakes up every morning. Sheri has two beautiful daughters who are both in university and play sports. As a proud mother, she rarely misses their games. She also has a wonderful husband whom she loves and a “fur baby” named Bella. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, sitting around the campfire with her family and friends, and travelling. Sheri is also a Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers devoted fan. As a change of pace from her sport-filled lifestyle, Sheri joined the committee for the JDFR Starry Starry Night Gala, a fundraising event in support of finding a cure for type one diabetes. This is an issue close to her heart, as her oldest daughter has type one diabetes.

Soren wakes up each morning with the idea that each day is a gift and a new challenge, knowing that the challenging days make the good days that much sweeter. Passionate about seeing people improve and achieve excellence, his personal mantra is to be ‘always improving.’ In his history of officiating over 450 games in three sports, he has never raised his voice toward a player, coach, or fellow official and is proud to be discovering the fine line between calm and assertive. He plans to graduate from CMU with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in accounting, in early 2022. For over half a decade, he has been involved with True North Helping Hands, an organization that builds and maintains school buildings for the indigenous children of Baja California, Mexico. Over the four trips he’s taken to Mexico to help with builds, he’s made friends from across Canada and the U.S., learned to appreciate an afternoon siesta, and even learned to speak some “playground Spanish”. In July of 2019, he was an on-field official at the U18 Flag Football National Championship and worked 23 games over three days, including both the men’s and women’s finals, and cites the experience as one he will cherish.

Dedicated to whatever he puts his mind to, Tyler is a self-starter who begins each 7 am morning with toast and Nutella. While he enjoys watching a great deal of sports, his personal favorite being hockey, he does believe soccer is ‘criminally underrated’ and particularly enjoys the lack of commercials and the great fan culture around the sport. Between attending the University of Manitoba and previous summer retail jobs, he focused his professional studies in Economics. His personal studies turned toward teaching himself Japanese and his biggest regret is not speaking the language nearly enough. He cites the process of learning like ‘reading a book on how to build a log cabin from the ground up before ever picking up a hammer’. In his free time, he enjoys watching YouTube and playing video games on PC and Nintendo. A fan of the Mega Man Battle Network games on GBA, he enjoys all sorts of games depending on his mood. One day he wants to go on vacation to another country that doesn’t primarily speak English, with his top pick being a vacation to Japan. He most admires his mom for being one of the hardest working people he knows.

Valérie is the real-life version of a viral video. You can’t stop watching her and you want to introduce her to all your friends. Valérie is T&A’s HR/Executive Assistant who’s been with T&A since 2006. She obtained her Office Management diploma at the Université de Saint-Boniface in 2007 and has kept T&A spinning ever since. Often the first one in and the last out, this girl is most marked by her tremendous generosity and kind heart. In her free time, Valérie loves to bake and is a passionate volunteer. She enjoys any type of physical activity – whether its Zumba or playing volleyball. She lives life with a spirit of gratitude and credits her parents who sacrificed to give her and her siblings the life she so deeply appreciates now.
