How to authorize us to work for you
To set us up as your representative with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), there are a couple of important steps:

- Create your CRA Account (with your SIN). Even if we’re only helping with your business taxes, you must first have your own personal CRA account.
- If applicable, add (or select) your Business Number.
- Authorize Us as Your Representative.
If we assist you with both your personal and business taxes, you’ll need to authorize us separately for each. Think of it like two doors with two keys — one for your garage door and one for your car. We need both keys to step in and help.

How to Create a CRA Account (for an Individual)
If you have already registered for My Account, My Business Account, or Represent a Client using a CRA user ID and password or a Sign-In Partner, you cannot register again. You must use the same sign-in information you already registered with to access your CRA account.
If you don’t have a My CRA account
STEP 1 – Gather your documents and grab your smartphone
When you register with a CRA user ID and password or a Sign-In Partner, you will need ALL of the following:
- Your social insurance number (SIN)
- Your date of birth
- Amounts you reported on your most recent tax return (from your Notice of Assessment)
For faster access to your CRA account, you will also need a smartphone device with a working camera and one of the following:
- Your Canadian passport
- Your Canadian driver’s license
- Your provincial or territorial photo ID card
STEP 2 – Visit My CRA registration page
STEP 3 – Choose a sign-in option to register with
For reference, here are the two options you will see on CRA’s website.
The option you register with will be the same option you use each time you sign in.

STEP 4 – Verify your identity
For faster access to the CRA sign-in services, you will also need a mobile device with a working camera. This way, you can submit a photo of yourself and your ID document and verify your identity immediately.

STEP 5 – Enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA)
For an extra layer of security, you will be required to enter a one-time passcode in addition to your password to sign in. For convenience, we recommend choosing the By Phone option to get your one-time passcode by text message.

Final STEP – Complete your identity verification (that you chose in step 4)
