Do I need to file GST?
There are several factors to consider when deciding whether you are required to register for GST. We recommend sitting down with a tax professional this year to decide what is the best solution for your business.
It should be noted that once the sales of products or services not GST exempt or zero rated exceed $30,000 in any 12 consecutive months you must begin remitting GST.

Things to consider if you are self-employed:
Tax filing deadline
If you (or your spouse or common-law partner) run a sole proprietorship business, your tax filing deadline is June 15, rather than April 30.
Please note that even though you aren’t required to file your taxes until June 15, any taxes you may be owing are due April 30. We therefore recommend you meet with your accountant prior to this date to avoid potential interest accruing.
