Talbot & Associates was founded in 1987 by Jean-Guy Talbot, FCPA, FCGA.
Born and raised on mixed farm, Jean-Guy learned at a very young age to feed the chickens, milk cows, clean the pigpen by hand and to NEVER stand behind a coughing cow. Having two older brothers taking over the family farm, Jean-Guy opted to concentrate his energy helping farmers and other businesses with their taxes.
Jean-Guy started his career in accounting in 1983 by working in public practice for Winnipeg firms for several years as well as a few years in industry. He started T&A on a part-time basis in 1987 and started operating full time in 1991 when he got his CGA designation.
Since then, Jean-Guy’s optimism and hard work has seen him grow T&A, from one part-time employee to over 60 employees with firms currently in Ashern, Birtle, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Oak Bluff, Steinbach and two locations in Winnipeg (St. Norbert and St. Boniface).
